The Academic Council of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the University) is a collegial management body of the University.

MAIN TASKS OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL

Determines the strategy and perspective directions of development of educational, scientific and innovative activities of the University; system of internal quality assurance of higher education; terms of study at the relevant levels of education.

Develops and submits to the Conference of the labor collective of the University a draft statute of the University, as well as a decision on amendments and additions to it.

Adopts the financial plan and annual financial report of the University; decisions on the placement of own revenues in the territorial bodies of the central executive body in the field of treasury servicing of budget funds, or in banking institutions; upon the proposal of the Rector of the University the decision on the formation, reorganization and liquidation of structural units; decisions on the organization of the educational process, determining of the terms of training at the appropriate levels; the main directions of research and innovation; final decisions on the recognition of foreign documents on higher education, scientific degrees and academic titles when hiring pedagogical, scientific, scientific-pedagogical and other workers, as well as during the enrollment of applicants for training; decision to evaluate the scientific and pedagogical activities of structural units.

Approves procedure for internal quality assurance procedures for higher education; educational programs and curricula for each level of higher education and specialty; sample and procedure for producing its own higher education document, regulations on the procedure and grounds for issuing a higher education document to graduates, as well as samples, the procedure for manufacturing, procedure and grounds for issuing joint and double diplomas to graduates.

Conferring the titles of professor, associate professor and senior researcher and submits the relevant decisions for approval to the certification board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Consider and approves the symbols and attributes of the University.

Considers other issues of the University's activities in accordance with its charter.
