Dmytro Syrbu

 

February 08, 1994 – July 11, 2014

 

Junior sergeant Dmytro Syrbuwas born on February 8, 1994 in the town of Sarata, Odesa region. He graduated from Sarata secondary school-gymnasium. In 2013, he graduated from the Odesa College of Economics, Law and Hotel and Restaurant Business with a degree in Law and received the qualification of «Junior Specialist in Law». Since 2013, he has been studying at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, specializing in Jurisprudence (part-time).

 

From April 11, 2014 he had the military service under contract as a cadet of the 7th training group of the 3rd department of training of junior specialists of the Training Center of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, military unit 9930, Orshanets.

 

He died on July 11, 2014 during the shelling of the positions of Ukrainian border guards near the village of Zelenopillya, Luhansk region, by BM-21 «Grad» MLRS.

 

For courage and heroism shown during the performance of official duties on the defense of the state border in the areas of the Eastern Regional Administration, by Presidential Decree № 593 / 2014 of July 15, 2014, he was awarded the Order «For Courage» of the III degree (posthumously).
