

Oleksandr Moskaliuk
February 25, 1963 – October 14, 2014
Senior lieutenant, deputy commander of the operational company (on an armored personnel carrier) for work with the personnel of the operational battalion of the military unit 3008 of the Western Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 109/2015 of February 26, 2015, «For personal courage and high professionalism displayed in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine», he was awarded the Order «For Courage», III class (posthumously).
On May 8, 2015, he was awarded the medal of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate «For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine» (posthumously).
Born in Zabolotne village, Kryzhopil district, Vinnytsia region.
In 1997, he graduated from the Odesa Institute of Internal Affairs (Odesa State University of Internal Affairs) with a degree in Law Enforcement.
He served in the Marines and took part in combat operations in Angola on behalf of the Warsaw Pact countries.
He is a master of sports in skiing and a candidate for master of sports in wrestling.
He was an operative, and from 1997 to 1999, he was the head of the criminal investigation department of the Kozyatyn district police department. Then he practiced law.
He was died during a breakthroughof a reinforcement column to the checkpoint № 32 surrounded by russian militants near the village of Smile, Slovianoserbskyi district, Luhansk region.
On August 23, 2015, a multimedia plaque was unveiled in Vinnytsia to honor the soldiers who died for Ukraine, which includes the name of Oleksandr Moskaliuk.
