Meeting with representatives of the Consultative Mission of the European Union in Ukraine

The fruitful cooperation of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs with the Consultative Mission of the European Union in Ukraine continues. Thus, on August 14, the rector of the university, police colonel Dmytro Shvetsia, met with the following representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine: Georgios POKAS, senior adviser on general law enforcement activities; Heidi KOTAMAKI, advisor/trainer on issues of police interaction with the community; Georgina MAGNUSSEN, advisor/trainer on police interaction with the community; Olga RADKEVICH, training expert; Natalia ALTYNTSEVA, an expert on cooperation with law enforcement agencies; Yevheniia KOROTKA, public relations specialist.

 

The meeting took place on the occasion of the handover of scientific works published with the assistance of the CSEC, in particular: the textbook "Prevention and counteraction of domestic violence" and methodical recommendations "Activities of the police in the prevention and counteraction of domestic violence". The authors of the scientific papers are the representatives of the Department of Administrative Activities of the Police Department of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, police major Olena Kovaleva, professor of the department, candidate of legal sciences, senior researcher, associate professor and Anastasia Berendeeva, professor of the department, candidate of legal sciences, associate professor.

 

The textbook is intended for students of higher education in the specialty 262 "Law enforcement" and 081 "Law" who are studying the academic discipline "Prevention and counteraction of domestic violence", and will also be useful for scientific and pedagogical staff and students of higher education in institutions of higher education with specific conditions training (who train police officers), practical police officers (who respond to incidents of domestic violence), as well as other subjects of prevention and countermeasures against domestic violence.

 

 

 

Methodological recommendations are intended for police mobile teams responding to the facts of domestic violence.

 

At the end of the meeting, the parties constructively discussed a number of important issues and agreed on the coordination of an action plan within the framework of cooperation between the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs and the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine.
