Speaking Club on “Human rights and non-violence approach in police work”
On December 6, the OSUIA hosted a meeting with higher education students in the Speaking Club format on the topic of “Human rights and non-violence approach in police work”.
The event was conducted by Jan Danco (Slovakia), Community Policing Adviser/Trainer at the EUAM Regional Presence in Odesa.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the importance of respecting human rights in police work and using non-violent methods in interacting with the public, as well as the psychological state of a person who has been a victim of violence and the approaches and methods in the work of future law enforcement officers that can help establish contact with the victim.
In addition, Eduardo Manfredini (Italy), Head of the European Sector of the Civilian Mission Planning and Management Division of the European External Action Service, joined the optional class. The students were interested in talking to the foreign representative, participated in the discussion and asked questions.
The event contributed to the development of language skills of higher education students, as well as to deepening their knowledge of modern approaches to the work of law enforcement agencies.
