The Mediation Center of Odesa State University operates on the basis of the Regulation on the Mediation Center of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.
The main purpose of the activity is to popularize mediation as an alternative way of resolving conflicts, introduce the basics of mediation and conflict intervention skills into the educational process in the course of professional practice of a police officer.
The Head of the Mediation Center of the Main Department of Internal Affairs is Liliia Matveieva, the Center's coordinator is Polina Baltadzhy, and the Center's secretary is Liubov Berezovenko.
The Mediation Center involves academic staff of the following departments of the OSUIA: Theory and History of State and Law, State Law Disciplines, Administrative Police Activities, and Civil Law Disciplines.
Strategic goals of the Center:
Popularization of mediation ideas among the public;
professional development of students/cadets, graduates and current police officers;
development of educational and methodological materials; - conducting mediation procedures by certified mediators.
The OSUIA Mediation Club operates on the basis of the OSUIA Mediation Center and unites the cadet and student community.
The club is a friendly atmosphere, a game of conflict, an opportunity to watch, share impressions and join. The goal is to popularize mediation, develop conflict resolution tools, and form a friendly community.
