Training "Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination" was held on the basis of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs

On 10 May, a training on gender equality and non-discrimination was held at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs within the framework of the project "Increasing Women's Participation in Reconstruction and Recovery Processes in Odesa Region", implemented by the NGO "Faith, Hope, Love" with the support of the NDI and the British people through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

 

The event was moderated by Liudmyla FARINA, head of the NGO "Association of Women". 

 

 

The trainers were Liubov BEREZOVENKO, Assistant to the Rector of the University for Gender Policy, and Liliia MATVIEIEVA, Head of the Mediation Centre of the Department of  the State University of Internal Affairs, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law.

 

 

During the training, the participants covered the following topics: 

 

- The concept of gender, gender structure of society and gender inequality. Gender stereotypes and their impact; 

 

- The concept, types and forms of discrimination. Stereotypes and prejudices as the basis of discrimination. Fundamental principles of combating discrimination in Ukraine; 

 

- Causes and dynamics of conflict. Strategies of behaviour in conflict. Mediation as a way to resolve conflicts.
