Faculty of Training of Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine
The Faculty of Training of Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs was founded in 2002. Over the years, it has acquired many good traditions, the main of which is the high-quality and comprehensive training of future specialists for the pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine. The faculty trains personnel in the specialty 081 “Law” (Bachelor's degree), the term of study on the basis of complete general secondary education is 4 years and the specialty 081 “Law” (Master's degree), the term of study on the basis of a Bachelor's degree is 1 year 6 months (by state order).
The tasks of the faculty are:
- training of qualified specialists for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, other ministries, central executive authorities, enterprises, institutions, organizations of Ukraine in accordance with the state order in the full-time form of study in the specialty 081 “Law”;
- coordination and control of the activities of the faculty departments;
- conducting activities on professional orientation of the population to acquire the profession of a police officer and selection of persons wishing to enter the university;
- educating cadets in the spirit of unconditional fulfillment of the requirements of the Police Oath, the Disciplinary Statute of the National Police of Ukraine, legality, political neutrality, humanism and impartiality, respect and protection of human rights and freedoms, the state foundations of statehood, and the achievements of the material and spiritual culture of the people of Ukraine.
The Faculty consists of three departments:
- general legal disciplines;
- Criminal Law and Criminology;
- Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics.
The organization of the educational process at the faculty is provided by scientific and pedagogical staff, the vast majority of whom have the degree of Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Science, as well as the academic title of Professor or Associate Professor. The Faculty maintains close ties with the practical bodies and units of the National Police of Ukraine, involving the most experienced specialists in the educational process and research activities.
