OSUIA has announced the results of the competition held in honor of World Intellectual Property Day
The Institute of Law and Security at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs hosted an awards ceremony for the winners of the essay and presentation contest on the topic: «Intellectual Property Protection: Current Challenges and Prospects».
The event was held in conjunction with World Intellectual Property Day. The competition brought together creative young people from Izmail to Kryvyi Rih, involving secondary schools in Odesa and the surrounding region. The competition was held online. Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 participated. The students presented their ideas and research in two formats: analytical essays and multimedia presentations.
On April 27, during an expanded meeting of the «Young Civil Law Student» academic club of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines, an award ceremony was held to honor the top participants. The event was attended by faculty members of the department, members of the academic club, and the contest winners.
All participants received certificates, and the authors of the best works received winner's diplomas.
Special thanks were extended to the teachers who provided academic guidance and supported the students as they prepared their projects.
Volodymyr Dryshliuk, Director of the Institute of Law and Security, Ph.D. in Law and Associate Professor, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He introduced the guests to the history of the institute’s founding and its traditions, and invited graduates to choose OSUIA to pursue careers as lawyers, law enforcement officers, or psychologists.
Viktor Makovii, Head of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines, Ph.D. in Law and Professor, noted: «This is the first time this competition has been held. However, the high quality of the entries and the students’ genuine interest in current issues of intellectual property law encourage us to make this initiative a tradition».
In addition to the official program, an educational tour was organized for the guests. Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the university’s facilities, tour the classrooms, and visit specialized labs. The students were particularly impressed by a visit to the museum affiliated with OSUIA, where they learned about the institution’s illustrious history and the development of the region’s law enforcement system.
The event showcased the great potential of future lawyers and strengthened the university’s ties with the region’s student community.
