OSUIA is launching a new sports program for veterans – tennis
Odesa State University of Internal Affairs continues to expand opportunities for physical activity, rehabilitation, and socialization for war veterans.
This time, a new sport – tennis – was introduced for the veterans. Veterans of the russian-ukrainian war, who now work at the university, joined the first training session.
The training sessions are conducted in collaboration with the public organization “Free Hearted” – an organization founded by veterans for veterans.
Tennis is not just a sport and physical exercise. It involves comprehensive work on coordination, balance, reaction time, endurance, and concentration. And most importantly, it offers the opportunity to gradually regain confidence in one’s abilities, experience positive emotions, and socialize with fellow players.
This is another step toward creating an environment at the university where veterans can not only work and study after their service, but also recover, play sports, make new friends, and remain an active part of the veteran community.
