Institute of Law and Security
The Institute of Law and Security is a multidisciplinary structural unit of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, which was created by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated November 22, 2022 No. 763 as a result of the reorganization of the educational and scientific institute of law and cybersecurity and performs the function of training applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor) and second (master) levels of higher education in the following specialties: 053 "Psychology," 081 "Law," 124 "System Analysis," 262 "Law Enforcement" in both full-time and part-time studies.

The organization of the educational process in the department is carried out by a team of experienced specialists consisting of: the head of the department of organizational and analytical support of the Institute of Law and Security, 3 leading specialists and 3 specialists.
The departments have a powerful scientific and pedagogical potential, the basis of which is: 10 doctors of law, 1 doctor of sciences in public administration, 31 candidates of law, 1 candidate of historical sciences, 1 candidate of philosophical sciences, 2 candidates of pedagogical sciences, 1 candidate of political sciences, 4 doctors of philosophy, of which 13 scientists have the academic title of professor, 29 - associate professor, 1 senior researcher.
The Institute provides high-quality educational services in the conditions of modern challenges, strict adherence to academic integrity, development of material and technical base, expansion of bases of practical training, promotes employment of graduates, attracts the best practitioners to the educational process.
Today, more than 1800 students study at the institute in various forms of education (full-time and part-time) and various educational and professional programs.
Educational and professional programs for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education: "Law," "Law Enforcement," "Psychology (psychologist of juvenile prevention)."
Educational and professional programs for the second (master's) level of higher education: "Law," "Law Enforcement," "Psychology," "Criminal Analysis."
The peculiarity of studying at the institute is due to the fact that training programs combine the best domestic and European practices. The training is aimed at combining theory and practice. Seminars, workshops, trainings, binary classes are carried out by leading specialists with rich practical experience, with the involvement of well-known lawyers, acting judges, police officers, notaries and other experienced specialists - representatives of state and law enforcement agencies. Much attention is paid to the development of scientific initiatives among applicants for higher education. This is achieved through participation in international and national competitions, conferences, tournaments, the functioning of scientific circles at each department.
Thanks to international academic mobility, students have the opportunity to receive European diplomas. For the second (master's) level of higher education, the university successfully operates a double diploma program, where applicants for higher education after passing distance learning can receive a diploma from the University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design (Wismar, Germany).
Training takes place in modern classrooms equipped with the latest technical training tools. Practical skills of applicants for higher education are practiced at specialized training grounds, such as:
specialized training ground "Interactive classroom on prevention and counteraction to domestic violence";
specialized training ground "Courtroom";
pre-medical preparation room;
specialized training ground "Tactical Town";
specialized training ground "Peron Station";
specialized training ground "Investigation of war crimes" and others.
The institute provides practice in various state, judicial and law enforcement agencies: The National Police of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, courts, bar, notary, territorial departments of justice, etc., as well as in various state and commercial enterprises and companies (more than 100 practice bases) with the possibility of further employment.
The Institute actively supports intercollegiate relations with institutions of higher education, which are part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, research institutions. He is also engaged in the development of international relations and cooperation, which is carried out in the context of integration into the world and European educational environment.
Today, the institute is actively developing student self-government. Students are active initiators of educational, sports, cultural, charitable and entertainment events. Applicants for higher education of the institute are winners of international, national, intercollegiate and regional competitions in various sports (boxing, sambo, volleyball, football, etc.).
The preparation, organization and implementation of educational programs is accompanied by national-patriotic, cultural, sports, aesthetic events, contributes to the formation of a warm friendly atmosphere and provides a real student life.
