Odesa student forum “Loudly about student things”
Тhe Odesa Student Forum “Loudly about Student Affairs” was held the other day, organized by 3rd year students of the specialty 081 “Law” of the Institute of Law and Security of the OSUIA, where they presented their podcasts.
The Loudspeakers project was created as part of the UPSHIFT program, which is being implemented in Odesa Oblast by the NGO “Needed Here” with the support of UNICEF Ukraine and the Belgian government.
Among the speakers and guests of the forum:
- Vadym Pidhorodynskyi, Vice-Rector of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs;
- Oleh Sokolov, Representative of the Government Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Odesa Regional State Administration;
- Oleksandr Zhiltsov, Director of the Department of Internal Policy of the Odesa City Council;
- Olena Moshenets, Member of Parliament of Ukraine;
- Olga Sahaidak, representative of the implementing partner of the NGO “Needed Here”;
- Representatives of the Ukrainian Youth Foundation and the Ukrainian Association of Students;
- Active youth and students.
The event was hosted by the team's mentor Yuriy Stepanets, a member of the Presidential Youth Council. Yuriy shared his own experience and emphasized the importance of implementing barrier-free access to education and public life.
The main points of the event:
- How students can get involved in civic activities even in the most difficult conditions;
- Challenges for education during the war and new opportunities for universities and students. The role of students in ensuring the quality of higher education;
- The importance of barrier-free education and public life;
- Presentation of podcasts that open up space for students to express their thoughts and feelings.
