Principles of psychological support:
1) legitimacy - compliance of psychological support measures with the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine;
2) humanism - the activities of psychological support subjects are based on the principles of universal human, moral, ethical values and ideals to ensure respect for the individual, comprehensive, harmonious development of the individual, preservation of his/her integrity and psychological health;
3) tolerance is the readiness and positive attitude of the subjects of the psychological support system to accept the psychology, views of another person, their individual differences, including on the basis of race, political, religious and other beliefs, gender, age, language, ethnic and social origin, citizenship, marital and property status, place of residence;
4) voluntariness is the voluntary consent and active participation of the person to whom psychological support measures are taken;
5) confidentiality - non-disclosure of information about a person obtained as a result of psychological measures, use of the information obtained solely to provide this person with qualified psychological assistance;
6) scientific validity - scientific validity of approaches, forms and methods in the implementation of psychological support measures;
7) objectivity - use of standardized, reliable, valid and adapted psychological methods and technologies by the subjects of the psychological support system in their practical activities;
8) complexity and systematicity - use of complementary forms and methods of work in psychological support measures, systematic consideration of the peculiarities and patterns of psychological manifestations of the personality of a police officer, police university student, cadet (trainee) in their professional activities.
