Odesa Center for Primary Professional Training "Police Academy" (Odesa) is a structural unit of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, which provides professional (vocational) training of police officers by profession 5162 "Policeman (by specializations)," who were first accepted into the service of the police.

 

The main task of the center is to ensure the organization of primary vocational training in accordance with state and international standards, the main goal is to train, prepare, educate a police officer of a new generation as a person and personality who implements three main principles in his activity: honesty, professionalism, dedication, acts in accordance with the Law, guided by common sense and realizing the tasks of the National Police of Ukraine.

 

The educational and material base of the center covers an area of about 4 hectares, on which there are 3 educational buildings, in which there are about 30 classrooms specially equipped in accordance with specializations, each of which contains appropriate multimedia equipment, 2 classes equipped with modern computer equipment, which in turn is effectively used for practical classes and exams.

 

To conduct physical training and self-defense tactics, 3 gyms with a total area of   900 m2, a volleyball court and a football field, two 25-meter shooting shooting ranges for shooting from a pistol (one of which is multimedia), a laser shooting range and a 100-meter indoor shooting range for shooting from automatic weapons are used. Also in the educational process, an obstacle course, a sports town of 280 m2 and three indoor training grounds for tactical exercises are actively used.

 

To develop practical skills of professional activity in the center, specialized educational facilities were created: "Class of pre-medical care and tactical medicine," "Police station," "Operator-102," "Residential building," "Checkpoint," "Investigator's office," "Railway station," "Room of detainees," "Documentation of war crimes."

 

In order to master the skills of practical driving a service car, elements of the roadway are equipped on the territory of the training center (road markings are applied, traffic lights and road signs are installed).

 

At the disposal of applicants for education there is a library, a chapel, a cafeteria, an assembly hall for 240 seats and a dining room for 500 seats. Applicants for education receive medical assistance in the health unit. In his spare time actively used tennis tables, playground for badminton, gym.
