About the Academy

The Odesa Center for Primary Professional Training “Police Academy” (Odesa) is a structural unit of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs that provides vocational (vocational and technical) training in a specific profession within the relevant field, in accordance with the orders and directives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

 

The main task of the center is to ensure the organization of primary professional training in accordance with national and international standards.

 

The main goal is to teach, train, and cultivate a professional worker of the new generation as both a person and an individual, who will implement three core principles in their activities: honesty, professionalism, and selflessness. They will act in accordance with the law, guided by common sense, and fulfill the tasks of the National Police of Ukraine.

 

The educational and material base of the center covers an area of approximately 4 hectares, on which there are 3 academic buildings in which there are about 30 specially equipped classrooms in accordance with specializations, each of which contains the appropriate multimedia equipment; 2 classrooms equipped with modern computer technology, which is effectively used for practical classes and exams.

 

For physical training and self-defense tactics classes, 3 sports halls with a total area of 900 m² are used, along with a volleyball court, a football field, two 25-meter shooting ranges for pistol shooting (one of which is multimedia-equipped), a laser shooting range, and a 100-meter indoor range. The training process also actively involves an obstacle course, a sports ground covering 280 m², as well as specialized training facilities.

 

For the development of practical skills in professional activities, the center has created specialized training facilities: “First Aid and Tactical Medicine Class”, “Police Station”, “Operator-102”, “Residential Building”, “Checkpoint”, “Investigator's Office”, “Detained Persons' Cell”, “Documentation of War Crimes”, “Protection of Ionizing Radiation Sources”, and “Military Fortifications”.

 

In order to master the skills of practical driving of a service vehicle, a training ground for improving driving skills has been equipped on the territory of the training center.

 

Education applicants have access to a library, a chapel, a cafeteria, an assembly hall with 240 seats, and a dining hall with 500 seats. Medical assistance is provided in the medical and sanitary unit. In their free time, tennis tables, a badminton court and a gym are actively used.
