Speaking Club with representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission was held at OSUIA
Odesa State University of Internal Affairs hosted a Speaking Club with representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM).
The speakers of the event were:
- Jan Danco (Slovakia), Community Policing Adviser/Trainer at the EUAM Field Office Odesa;
- Sanna Kaskaela (Finland), Rule of Law Adviser/Trainer at the EUAM Field Office Odesa.
The topic was “Human Rights and Gender-Sensitive Approach: Focusing on the Impact of Trauma on Investigations”.
During the discussion, the cadets learned more about international human rights standards, gender sensitivity and the specifics of investigating crimes involving traumatic experiences of victims.
In addition, the speakers of the event cited many examples from practice and used the case study method, which allowed the recipients to better and more thoroughly understand the material.
The meeting was organized by the International Cooperation Department in cooperation with clinicians from the Legal Clinic of the OSUIA. Head of the Legal Clinic, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Victoria Tomina took an active part in the event.
The event was held in a constructive and relaxed atmosphere, contributing to the formation of professional competencies of future law enforcement officers and improving their foreign language skills.
