Inter-university cadet-student roundtable “Language and Law: Linguistic Aspect of Understanding, Interpretation and Application of Law”
The OSUIA hosted a meeting of the Interuniversity Cadet-Student Roundtable «Language and Law: Linguistic Aspect of Understanding, Interpretation and Application of Law».
The meeting was opened by Maksym Kornienko, the interim first vice-rector of the university, who emphasized the importance of language training for police officers.
Traditionally, the main areas of discussion were topical issues in the coordinates of language and law: the current state of the language of law and legal terminology; intercultural communication in the field of professional activity; culture of communication in police work, including in English.
The roundtable was attended by students of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine, Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, Odesа Polytechnic National University, and Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.
As a result of the discussion, the roundtable participants adopted a resolution in which they emphasized the need to continue cooperation between higher education institutions in conducting scientific events on linguistic topics, expanding the range of research aimed at identifying and solving problems of the full functioning of the Ukrainian language.
