Department of Criminal Analysis and Information Technologies
The Department of Criminal Analysis and Information Technologies is one of the leading departments of the University.
The main task of the department is to train highly qualified specialists for the National Police of Ukraine in the following areas use of information technologies by employees of the National Police of Ukraine:
information and information-analytical support for the activities of the National Police of Ukraine;
criminal analysis and risk forecasting;
countering cybercrime;
security of work with information.
The academic staff of the Department conducts training sessions with higher education students and students of advanced training courses, cyber police units, pre-trial investigation bodies, the State Border Guard Service, the Patrol Police, police officers of the security police to ensure security in educational institutions, police units of information and analytical support and others, covering the areas of modern information technology, information support for the activities of the National Police of Ukraine.
Graduates effectively use the knowledge gained during their service in the operational and investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine.
In its work, the department constantly maintains contact with the territorial units of the cyber police, the Department of Criminal Analysis and Investigation, and actively interacts with the Department of Information and Analytical Support of the National Police in Odesa Region.
Employees of the department are involved in conducting field training, advanced training, providing advice to police officers, and are also involved as specialists in the preparation of investigative (search) activities.
The main areas of scientific work of the department are:
use of information technologies in operational and investigative activities;
development of security policies for computer systems;
audit of computer security of the organization;
development and implementation of information security systems;
organization of technical protection of information.
The department constantly conducts educational work with higher education students, operates a scientific club “Law Enforcement Officer”, and participate in scientific conferences, competitions, competitions held between higher education institutions, publish scientific articles, interact with the Criminal Analysis Department to coordinate their developments with the needs of practical police units.
The staff of the department provides support for the work of four computer classes, as well as the training center for combating cybercrime and monitoring cyberspace, whose main activity is to study issues of combating cybercrime and monitoring cyberspace.
