Erasmus + Project on Jean Monnet Program "Nonviolent Practices of Education: EU Experience"
Odesa State University of Internal Affairs implements the Erasmus + grant project in the direction of the Jean Monnet Program "Nonviolent Practices of Education: EU Experience." Project number 101127420. The idea of the project is due to an attempt to resolve the existing contradictions between legal and social norms on the use of violent methods of raising children. In Ukraine, the use of any child-degrading methods of education is prohibited by law, but established traditions and lack of knowledge in adults cause an alarmingly high level of toleration of violence in education. The urgency of the problem is aggravated by the crisis associated with military operations. The author's team aims to teach cadets and university students - future law enforcement officers the ability to identify manifestations of violence, for which the formation of "zero" tolerance for the use of violent methods of raising children is important for them. In an effort to achieve greater effect, the project team decided that future teachers should also become students of the developed course.
To achieve this goal, it is planned to conduct a sociological study of the prevalence of the use of corporal and other degrading punishments in the families of residents of Odesa, to develop and teach the course "Non-violent practices of upbringing: experience of the EU, "holding a conference and preparing a manual on European standards to ensure the principle of the dignity of the child and the inadmissibility of the use of violence against children, in particular for the purpose of education, as well as approaches to the upbringing of children in EU countries.
It is expected that as a result of participation in the module, cadets and students will be able to introduce the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities both in professional law enforcement and pedagogical activities, and in their personal lives.
