The main tasks of the department are:

1) implementation of measures aimed at observance of rights in the field of scientific activity, protection of intellectual property, ensuring favorable conditions for the creation of intellectual property objects.

2) promoting the effective organization and conduct of basic and applied scientific research in the fields of law, law enforcement, cybersecurity, psychology, economics, etc., including in the established priority areas of research of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the University.

3) popularization and ensuring of academic integrity among researchers, research and teaching staff, applicants for higher education, applicants for academic degrees.

4) ensuring targeted interaction and coordination of the work of the University's structural units in the implementation of scientific and innovative activities.

5) organization of work on the implementation of the state policy in the field of intellectual property protection, copyright and related rights in the course of research work.

6) assistance in the formation of scientific schools, their popularization and coverage of information about their activities.

7) organization of research work of higher education students, coordination of the activities of the scientific society of higher education students and young scientists of the University.

8) organization of preparation and holding of scientific, scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables, competitions of scientific works at the University.

9) registration of research and dissertation topics in the state registration system.

10) involvement of researchers and academic staff of the University in the implementation of national programs, preparation of draft laws and other regulations, fulfillment of research orders of practical units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and their scientific support.
