International Cooperation Unit

The Head of International Cooperation Unit is major Olga Kovalova.

International cooperation of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs is one of the priority directions of the activity of the educational institution, which is aimed at ensuring the establishment of international relations of the University with educational institutions and organizations of foreign countries, as well as further practical implementation of the results of international contacts with police structures and educational institutions of foreign countries.

Currently the coordinator of the international activities of the University is International Cooperation Unit. The University cooperates with a number of foreign affairs educational institutions, namely

  • Academy “Stefan cel Mare” (Republic of Moldova);
  • Mogilev high college (Republic of Belarus);
  • Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
  • Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences;
  • Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

OSUIA also actively cooperates with such organizations as:

  • European Police College (CEPOL);
  • EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM);
  • International Association of Police Academies INTERPA;
  • Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE);
  • Luxemburg Center for European Reforms;
  • European Association for International Education;
  • Association of National Students` Unions of Europe;
  • Hans Zaidel Foundation, Munich, Germany;
  • Organization for Combating Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

TASKS

  • organization and participation in the formation of the main directions of international cooperation of the University taking into account the peculiarities of the current state policy of development of international relations;
  • achievement of international quality standards in education;
  • search and expansion of international contacts necessary for the development of scientific, scientific-practical and teaching-methodical work of the University;
  • cooperation with foreign educational institutions in order to conduct joint research for the needs of the internal affairs agencies of both countries;
  • cooperation with international and non-governmental organizations for the purpose of studying and implementing the experience of foreign countries in the field of training of police personnel;
  • realization of mutual exchange of experience on issues of nation-wide priority interest of the state, mutual participation in scientific conferences and seminars, exchange of specialists for lectures, accumulation of educational, methodological and scientific literature, as well as internships with the aim of increasing the level of training of police personnel;
  • exchange of scientific and methodological materials;
  • conducting bilateral (multilateral) scientific and practical events (conferences, seminars, round tables);
  • preparation of draft agreements, protocols and programs of bilateral and multilateral cooperation of the University with foreign educational institutions, foundations, international and intergovernmental organizations in the field of legal education and law enforcement.
