Meeting between the leadership of OSUIA and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross

A working meeting was held at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs between the university’s rector, Police Colonel Viacheslav Davydenko, and the first vice rector, Police Colonel Maksym Korniienko, and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

 

The event was attended by Diana Stoecklin (a Swiss national), head of the ICRC’s Odesa sub-delegation; Solene Berthelier (a French national), head of the Protection Section; ICRC delegate for engagement with police and defense forces Calum Mcdonald (a British citizen), ICRC program advisor for engagement with armed forces, police, and security forces Dmytro Dvornyk, and ICRC program advisor for engagement with armed forces and security forces Oleksandr Kozachko.

 

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation, particularly in the areas of higher education and professional development for law enforcement personnel, taking into account the norms of international humanitarian law.

 

 

The parties paid particular attention to organizing and conducting joint educational events and training sessions aimed at developing professional competencies in the area of engagement with the civilian population and ensuring respect for human rights in the face of contemporary challenges.

 

 

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in continuing their partnership and agreed to move forward with joint initiatives.
