The «Living Book» discussion club held a meeting at OSUIA library. The discussion focused on Sofiia Sereda's book «Another Life: Stories of Injury and Acceptance», with Oleh Avtomieienko, the narrator of the biographical novella «The Man with Insight», in attendance.

Oleh Avtomieienko – a colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a veteran, and a blogger – shared his personal experience as someone who rediscovered himself after suffering a severe injury that left him blind.

The moderator, Olha Podlisetska, an associate professor in the Department of Language Training, steered the conversation toward a topic that interested the cadets and students: motivation in life and the search for new meaning at a time when it seems that everything has been lost.

Oleh Avtomieienko spoke about his passion for pottery, his rehabilitation in Poland, and the tremendous support he receives from his wife. He discussed the nuances of how others interact with the visually impaired, aspects of crisis psychology, and the ability to navigate any situation.

The club members realized how important it is not to lose hope in difficult situations and how to learn to understand people with special needs.
