On November 18, students of higher education at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs joined the English-speaking Speaking Club, whose special guest was Samuli Jaakko Matias Laulumaa, senior prosecutor's office adviser of the Consultative Mission of the European Union.
The meeting was devoted to the current topic: «Observance of legality and interaction between the authorities and law enforcement officers».
During the event, the participants discussed the key principles of interaction between power structures and civil society, the role of legality in the functioning of state institutions and the importance of effective communication in the work of law enforcement officers. The speaker shared the European vision of building trust between society and law enforcement agencies, as well as practical examples of such cooperation.
Special attention was paid to English-language idioms, which are often used in professional law enforcement communication. Participants had the opportunity not only to analyze their meaning, but also to try to apply it in simulated situations.
