The event was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ grant project: Jean Monnet module “Nonviolent Educational Practices: EU Experience”, which is being implemented at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.

The roundtable summarized Module 2 of the training course: “European Standards for the Response of Professionals Working with Children to Incidents of Violence” and served as the final for the entire training course “Nonviolent educational Practices: EU Experience”.

The roundtable was attended by the course participants - cadets and students of the university, as well as students of the Odesa Teacher’s Training Professional College.

Olena Kovalova, PhD in Law, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor, Kostiantyn Palshkov, PhD in Political Science, Associate Professor, and Natalia Kharchenko, PhD in Psychology, presented the project's trainers.

The roundtable presentations focused on protecting children's rights and combating domestic violence in schools and society, in particular through the implementation of European standards and practices. The participants discussed such important aspects as the role of EU legislation in combating domestic violence, the principles of non-violent education, police involvement in working with families, and partnerships between schools and law enforcement agencies to create a safe educational environment.

The discussion of these topics helped to create a deeper understanding of the problem of violence, share experiences and find practical approaches that can be applied in Ukraine to protect children and create a safe environment for their development.

Shortly after the exit survey, the participants of the training course will receive certificates of completion.
