The International Scientific and Practical Conference «Problems of Criminal Analysis» was held at the OSUIA

The International Scientific and Practical Conference «Problems of Criminal Analysis» was held at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, which brought together leading experts in the field of criminal analysis in a fruitful discussion and exchange of ideas.

 

The conference covered a wide range of issues related to criminal analysis, including the latest trends in criminal statistics, crime research methods, criminal behavior analysis, and much more. 

 

 

The key areas of work of the International scientific and practical conference were the issues of institutional formation and formation of standards of criminal analysis in Ukraine, topical issues of the use and legal regulation of criminal analysis in law enforcement activities, analytical intelligence of war crimes, practical tools and algorithms for the use of OSINT, development of the strategic component of criminal analysis in Ukraine.

 

Experts expressed their opinions and proposed new approaches to solving current problems related to criminal phenomena. In addition, participants had the opportunity to present their research and participate in discussions with identified leaders in the field. 

 

 

The conference was opened by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Honored Education Worker of Ukraine Dmytro Shvets, who noted that the issue of criminal analysis is extremely important for the future of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. The head of the university noted that all participants of the scientific and practical conference have a unique opportunity to discuss the main issues of the current state of development of criminal analysis and develop recommendations that will contribute to improving the work of practical units.

 

 

Oleksandr TARASENKO, director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, addressed the audience with an opening speech, who noted the relevance of developing strategies for introducing criminal analysis into the educational process. 

 

Congratulatory words were addressed to the participants of the conference: police lieutenant colonel Roman BUTKO - head of the Department of Criminal Analysis of the National Police of Ukraine, who shared his practical experience and developments in aspects of the practical application of criminal analysis; Brigadier General Yuriy PETRIV - Head of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine, who emphasized the practical aspects of the use of criminal analysis by units of the State Border Service; Mykhailo BORODKIN is the head of the Southern Interregional Territorial Administration of ARMA, who shared his experience of using elements of criminal analysis in practical activities. 

 

 

After the opening of the conference, Oleksandr KORYSTIN, chief researcher of the Scientific Research Laboratory of Criminological Studies of the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, presented the monograph "Implementation of the Philosophy of Intelligence-Led Policing" to the scientific community and law enforcement officers in the system of criminal analysis of the National Police of Ukraine", the author team of which also includes employees of the university. The first printed copy of the monograph was donated to the university. 

 

The conference was attended by representatives of the EU Consultative Mission, heads of departments and departments of criminal analysis and cyber police of the National Police, the State Border Service of Ukraine, scientists and leading practitioners in the field of criminal analysis, work with open sources and OSINT.

 

 

According to the results of the conference, a resolution was approved regarding the main directions and features of the development of criminal analysis, including in the modern period in the conditions of the war and in the perspective of the post-war period.

 

The organizer of the international scientific and practical conference is the research laboratory on problematic issues of criminal analysis of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs. 

 

 

The results of the conference are the basis for further scientific research and practical work, which will contribute to the further development of the field of criminal analysis in Ukraine.
