The OSUIA held a seminar on HIV and other infectious diseases
Odesa State University of Internal Affairs hosted a training seminar on HIV and other related infectious diseases for law enforcement officers.
The event was held with the participation of Gorica Popović-Mostarac and Serhiy Rudyi, trainers from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
During the seminar, participants discussed HIV prevention and the prevention of other infectious diseases, modes of transmission, personal safety guidelines for law enforcement officers while on duty, and protocols for safe behavior in potentially risky situations.
Special attention was given to the specifics of communicating with people who may have HIV or other infectious diseases. Participants discussed the principles of respectful and unbiased communication, maintaining confidentiality, preventing stigmatization, and the importance of treating others with respect while performing their professional duties.
