University Speaking Club with EUAM expert Staffan Palmblad (Sweden)

Students of OSUIA took part in the Speaking Club with the participation of Staffan Palmblad (Kingdom of Sweden), Senior Advisor on Criminal Investigations at the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM).

The topic of the meeting, «Criminal Investigations: The Experience of the Kingdom of Sweden», sparked lively interest among participants, as it touched on important aspects of European standards in the field of human rights and criminal procedure.

 

 

During the interactive discussion, Staffan Palmblad shared practical approaches used in Sweden during criminal investigations. Particular attention was paid to issues such as the rights of suspects in custody, levels of suspicion, circumstances of criminal proceedings, and investigation findings.

 

 

The participants had the opportunity not only to improve their English communication skills, but also to gain valuable knowledge of comparative criminal law and learn about the ethical standards of investigators in European Union countries.
