Practical shooting training for veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war is underway at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.

The session began with a mandatory safety briefing and an introduction to the shooter's code of conduct.

During the training session, the veterans practiced basic pistol handling skills, as well as the «El Presidente» drill and splits, improving their speed, accuracy, and control of the weapon.

The practical portion included shooting at metal and cardboard targets, which allowed participants to practice switching targets, rapid aiming, and confidently hitting targets in motion.

Practical shooting is not only a sport but also an effective tool for the adaptation and rehabilitation of veterans. It helps channel combat experience into a sporting context, strengthens psychological resilience, develops concentration, and restores self-confidence.

The «IBIS» store joined in organizing the training session; it supports initiatives aimed at developing practical skills, promoting physical activity, and fostering social integration among veterans.

The classes are led by Oleksandr Nikolaiev, head of the Firearms Training Department at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.
