Speaking Club at the European Union Advisory Mission office
Students from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs visited the European Union Advisory Mission office to participate in a Speaking Club on the topic of “Schengen.”
The speaker at the event was Aristеidis Stamoulis, EUAM’s Senior Border/Integrated Border Management Adviser.
Participants discussed the history of the creation and basic principles of the Schengen area, its member countries, and the advantages of free movement within the EU.
Special attention was paid to the following topics: the activities of Interpol, the alert system, and the SIS (Schengen Information System) database, in particular, the types of information entered into it.
The cadets actively participated in the discussion, asking questions to each other and the speaker, demonstrating their interest and high level of communication skills.
The event served as a useful platform for practicing English and learning about international approaches to security and law enforcement.
