Representatives of the OSUIA took part in the Odesa Wheelchair Basketball Championship
Odesa hosted the city’s Open 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball Championship, which brought together veterans of the russian-ukrainian war through sports, teamwork, and friendly interaction.
A defining feature of the competition was the atmosphere of true sportsmanship. The teams were mixed—participants with varying levels of experience, physical abilities, skills, and talents played together, supported one another, and demonstrated that sports know no barriers.
Veterans of the russian-ukrainian war, who currently work at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, also joined the championship. The university’s veterans play wheelchair basketball on a regular basis, so their training and teamwork enabled them to achieve strong results.
Based on the results of the competition:
1st place – “Odesa Rapans,”
OSUIA representative – Oleksii Ishchuk;
2nd place – “Serzh,”
OSUIA representative – Serhii Kozachenko;
3rd place – “The Kings of Gandrabur,”
OSUIA representative – Andrii Delihioz;
4th place – “Gremlyany.”
Veterans' sports are about strength, recovery, team spirit, and the opportunity to move forward.
