Training and practical meeting with representatives of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine
On October 22, at the initiative of Demyd Morozov, senior lecturer at the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities of OSUIA, a training and practical meeting was held for 3rd-year cadets with Senior Investigator of the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Odesa Region, Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, Lieutenant Colonel Eduard Podvysotskyi, and Senior Investigator of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Odesa Region, Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, Major Serhii Vorobiov.
The main topic of discussion was the current problems of combating crime related to the establishment or spread of criminal influence (Article 255-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as the specifics of combating this type of crime in conditions of martial law.
The invited practitioners shared their experience and knowledge with future criminal police specialists, focusing on the following aspects:
- the concept of «criminal influence» was explained in detail;
- the specifics of procedural measures aimed at identifying, documenting, and stopping the activities of persons exercising criminal influence were considered;
- the impact of martial law on the fight against this type of crime was highlighted;
- problematic aspects of evidence were outlined.
