Study visit to the Odesa detention center

Cadets of the 4th year of the The Faculty of Training of Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine as part of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs. paid a study visit to the state institution "Odesa Remand Detention Center".

The meeting was held by the deputy head of social, educational and psychological work of the State University «Odesa detention center, lieutenant colonel of the internal service Oleh PANYCHENKO, who spoke about the peculiarities of the institution's functioning, the procedure for acceptance, registration, placement of detained persons, inspection procedures, ensuring rights and conditions of stay.

Particular attention was paid to the specifics of the criminal environment in conditions of isolation - in particular, it was about the peculiarities of the behavior of various categories of persons held in pre-trial detention centers, as well as the challenges faced by staff in their daily work.

During the excursion, the cadets inspected:

- cells for holding suspects;

- separate cells for minors;

- investigation rooms for procedural actions;

- premises for holding court hearings in the mode of VCS and telephone communication;

- rest rooms for the dependents.
