Lecture with the participation of the Senior Advisor on Criminal Investigations of the EUAM

On October 15, a lecture was held at OSUIA for 4th-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine with the participation of Staffan Palmblad (Kingdom of Sweden), Senior Advisor on Criminal Investigations of the European Union Advisory Mission. The topic of the lecture was «Crime at Sea. Maritime Law».

During the lecture, the expert explained in detail the concept of maritime crime, described the main types of offenses that occur in maritime waters, and presented the specifics of responding to them in international practice.

An important part of the speech was devoted to the issue of illegal drug trafficking using sea routes and maritime transport.

Mr. Palmblad shared the Kingdom of Sweden's experience in combating this type of crime, provided specific examples from law enforcement practice, and familiarized participants with modern methods of detecting and preventing drug trafficking at sea.
