The II Independence Half-Marathon Odesa took place on September 14.

Before the start, war veterans carried the Ukrainian flag in a symbolic gesture.

Traditionally, veterans joined the race, including Serhii Kozachenko, assistant to the rector of OSUIA for work with veterans and a veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war.

For military personnel, participating in such events is not only about sport, but also an opportunity to feel like an integral part of society. Physical accessibility is important, but so is social accessibility: so that soldiers who have been wounded or have undergone amputations do not feel isolated from the world. After all, when veterans' eyes light up during competitions, it evokes sincere emotions and gives them strength.

All funds raised from the charity run will be used to provide prosthetics at the Odesa branch of the SuperHumans center.
