Elective lesson on the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery
On December 2, an optional lesson was held for 4th year students of the Faculty of Training of Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the NPU of the OSUIA.
The event, dedicated to the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, was held under the slogan “Combating Human Trafficking: Safe Migration”.
Olga Kotelnikova, Security Assistant at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Zera Islyamova, Head of the Protection Team, spoke at the meeting.
They spoke about the organization's key activities aimed at preventing human trafficking, supporting victims and promoting safe migration.
Special attention was paid to interactive exercises, in which the cadets took an active part. Practical tasks allowed the participants to clearly understand how to recognize the signs of human trafficking, prevent such crimes and provide assistance to victims.
Such events help to raise awareness of future law enforcement officers, develop their professional skills and understand the importance of protecting human rights in the face of modern challenges.
