Students and cadets from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs took a tour of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine – the country’s sole body with constitutional jurisdiction. The purpose of the visit was to deepen their understanding of the practical aspects of the judicial process and to familiarize themselves with the work of the institution that ensures the supremacy of the Constitution.

During the event, future lawyers and law enforcement officers toured the Grand Chamber’s hearing room, where key decisions are made regarding the constitutionality of laws.

The students and cadets learned about the Court’s internal structure, the specifics of hearing constitutional complaints, and the rules governing the conduct of the open and closed portions of plenary sessions.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the Court’s role in protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as to the requirements regarding judges’ professional and ethical standards. Representatives of the Court’s staff familiarized the guests with the work of the institution’s library and archives, where historical documents related to the constitutional process are preserved.

The visit allowed the students to compare the theoretical knowledge they had acquired during their studies with the actual processes of constitutional review.
