А memorial event titled “The Bell of Remembrance”

А memorial event titled “The Bell of Remembrance” was held near the “Defenders of Ukraine” memorial in the “Glory and Freedom” square. The ceremony was dedicated to honoring the defenders of Ukraine who lost their lives in the struggle for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.

During the ceremony, the names of servicemen from the Odesa region who died in May over the twelve years of the Russian–Ukrainian war were read aloud. Special tribute was paid to the Heroes of Ukraine, Ihor Bedzai and Vitalii Blazhko, who gave their lives for their homeland.

The event was attended by families of the fallen soldiers, veterans, representatives of state authorities and local self-government, volunteers, clergy, members of the public, and youth.

Veterans of the Russian–Ukrainian war who currently work at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs Serhii Kozachenko and Oleksandr Diuzhykov together with university cadets, joined the memorial event. Their participation symbolized the continuity of generations of Ukraine’s defenders, the preservation of the memory of fallen comrades, and the education of young people based on examples of courage, honor, and devotion to the state.

We bow our heads in honor of the bright memory of the Heroes. Their feat will forever remain in the hearts of the Ukrainian people.
