Binary lecture class on the academic discipline «Theory of State and Law»

OSUIA held a binary lecture on the academic discipline «Theory of State and Law» for first-year students majoring in «Law Enforcement» on the topic: «The Rule of Law. Civil Society».

The following people participated in the class:

 

Zhanna Mishkevych – chairwoman of the New Life charitable foundation;

 

Vitalii Matvieiev – Head of the NGO «Projector», lawyer, media lawyer, head of the «Human Rights Clinic» and Accessible Justice projects, Safe Space for Youth and Adolescents, representative to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on the investigation and prosecution of gender-based crimes; 

 

Inna Shapovalova – Associate Professor, Department of State and Legal Disciplines;

 

Liubov Berezovenko is the university rector's assistant on gender issues.

 

 

During the session, participants discussed the contemporary understanding of the principles of the rule of law and the role of civil society in its development, as well as mechanisms for protecting human rights, interaction between the public sector and state institutions, and practical examples of human rights organizations' participation in strengthening the rule of law and democratic values.
