Outreach and educational activities on preventing and combating discrimination among students at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs

The «Space of Safety» Scientific and Analytical Training Center, in collaboration with the Center for Gender Education at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, continues to actively conduct informational and educational work on preventing and combating discrimination among higher education students.

A training session was held for second-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies at the National Police University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the topic: «Let’s Talk About the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is observed annually on March 21».

The event featured Viktoriia Tkachenko, an expert on preventing and combating gender-based violence from the CO «The Tenth Of April», and Anna Burdeina, a representative of the Romani NGO “Romani Zbora,” who also spoke at the event.

During the training, special attention was paid to the issue of discrimination against the Roma community. Participants learned about the historical roots of prejudice against the Roma, discussed contemporary manifestations of discrimination, and examined the role of civil society organizations in protecting the rights of the Roma population.
