Training for trainers on «Preventing and combating gender based violence, including domestic violence»
From April 7 to 10, in cooperation with the Scientific and Analytical Training Center «Security Space» of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, the European Union Advisory Mission, the Main Department of the National Police in Mykolaiv region and the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa region, a training of trainers for police officers of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions was held on «Preventing and combating gender based violence, including domestic violence».
Participants had the opportunity to improve their skills in preventing and combating gender-based violence, including domestic violence, and to master the skills of conducting training sessions under the guidance of experienced experts, including:
- representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission: Georgios Pokas (Greece), Senior Adviser on General Policing, Jan Dancho (Slovakia), Adviser / Trainer on Community Policing, and Olha Radkevych, EUAM Training Expert;
- Olena Kovalova Police Major, Professor of the Department of Police Administrative Activities, PhD in Law, Associate Professor;
- Tetiana Shevyrina, judge of the Ochakiv City District Court of Mykolaiv region;
- Nadiia Perebendiuk, Head of the Territorial Department of the Service for Children of Odesa City Council in Khadzhybey district;
- psychologist Mariia Bezborodko;
- Oleksandra Musulevska, Head of the Department of the Southern Interregional Center for Free Legal Aid Provision;
- Natalia Tashmatova and Olena Hladkova, representatives of the Center for Social Services of Odesa City Council.
As a result of the training, 16 participants received certificates of trainers, which were presented by the acting First Vice-Rector of the OSUIA, Doctor of Law, Police Colonel Maksym Korniienko and representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission Georgios Pokas and Jan Dancho.
The event was an important step in strengthening interagency cooperation and developing an effective system of police response to cases of gender-based violence, including domestic violence, in the regions.
