Cadets at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs have completed a course of practical classes in professional English. The training took place as part of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine’s unique Virtual English Language Educators Program.

The program, which launched last semester under the guidance of Georgetown University lecturer Austin Heather, has continued successfully this semester under the guidance of experienced lecturer Jason Hill.

Today’s Ukrainian police officers operate in accordance with international standards, so knowledge of a foreign language is not merely a bonus but a professional necessity. Lively dialogue with American instructors helped the cadets break down language barriers, gain confidence in communication, and integrate confidently into the European security space.

We would like to thank the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and our esteemed lecturers for their support and contribution to training the next generation of Ukrainian police officers! Together, we will reach new heights and build a safe future!
