On October 10, World Mental Health Day, cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the NPU of OSUIA joined a training course on psychological first aid for first responders (PFA First Responders) to acquire the skills and abilities to provide psychological first aid.

The training was conducted by representatives of the psychological support department, Viktoriia Dubiniak, Olha Melnykova, and Ruslan Balandin, certified trainers (ToT) in first psychological aid (FPA), accredited by EFPA within the EuroPsy system.

Representatives of a specialized Portuguese group of professional instructors in psychological first aid, Jose Quintela Cardoso and Ana Isabel Carneiro Goncalves, organized by the EUAM in Ukraine, provided their expert assessment of the training and practical tasks completed.

During the training, participants: learned about the basic principles and stages of providing first psychological aid; practiced practical protocols for action in crisis situations; learned self-regulation and stress resistance techniques; and received tools for maintaining their own mental health.
