Training on criminal analysis started at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs

In the framework of the ongoing cooperation of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs with the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine, the training will be held on March 12-15 in the high school on «The application of criminal analysis to counter crime» for representatives of Head Departments of National Police in the regions.

????????????????????????????????????The lead specialist of European Union Advisory Mission takes part in the training:

– Tommy Peppo, Advisor / Trainer on Criminal Investigations.

????????????????????????????????????Trainers-speakers of the training are the Head of the Department of Cyber Security and Information Support Major Police Karen Ismailov and the Head of the Department of Criminalistics, Forensic Medicine and Psychiatry Major Police Oleksandr Zaiets.

At the beginning of the training, the vice – rector of  Odesa State University of Internal Affairs Doctor of Law, Professor Sergii Kuznichenko congratulated the foreign guest and participants, noting the importance of such measures in transposing European experience.

????????????????????????????????????The subject of training is as close as possible to the needs of practical workers and includes the following positions:

1. Practical experience of applying criminal analysis in the countries of European Union;

2. General features of the application of criminal analysis in combating crime:

– criminal analysis: components of the process;

– description of methods of criminal analysis;

3. Use of VPN-services for the safe search of the information on the Internet;

????????????????????????????????????4. Application of the method of drawing up a financial profile of suspected persons for the purpose of establishing hidden revenues;

5. Search, selection and collection of information which is received from public sources and its analysis;

6. Practical exercises and much more.

In general, training participants will learn more about the nature of criminal analysis and the weaknesses of organized crime, and will acquire the skills needed to analyze large volumes of information from different sources, which will definitely help them in further work in law enforcement agencies to fight crime.

After the training, all participants will receive certificates of international standard.
