Presentation of EU values and activities of European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine

On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Council of Europe and the celebration of the Days of Europe, an expert on the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine Jandsc_0065 dsc_0074Schmoelzl, specialist in planning, analysis and coordination, conducted an introductory study for the students of the 3rd year of the Faculties № 1, № 2, № 3 a presentation on EU values and activities of the Mission in the region.

European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) began its work in 2005. EUBAM promotes the implementation of border and customs standards and practices that meet EU standards and the needs of its two partner countries. The main objective of the Mission is to improve cross-border cooperation between border and customs authorities, as well as other law enforcement agencies, and to promote international co-operation. EUBAM`s activities contribute to economic development and strengthen security in the region.dsc_0066-1dsc_0071

The Mission’s representative focused on a wide range of tasks that cover EUBAM`s activities, such as facilitating the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, ensuring the full implementation of the Integrated Border Management Practices at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, ensuring the fight against cross-border crime.

The event was held in a friendly atmosphere, the topic was of great interest to the audience, the students asked questions readily for which comprehensive answers were provided.
