Odessa State University of Internal Affairs was headed by Dmytro Shvets

By order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated June 21, 2022 № 355 Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Colonel (who until recently served as First Vice-Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs)  Dmytro Shvets was appointed as Rector of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.  Inna Yashchuk, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, introduced the new head of the higher education institution.

The event was attended by: First Deputy Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Police Colonel Anton Syzonenko; Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation Oleksiy Leonov;  First Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Borys Voloshenkov;  First Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional Council Oleh Radkovsky;  Chief of  the National Police in Odesa region, General of the Third Rank of Police Mykola Semenyshyn.

The head of the Department began her speech to honor the memory of those who laid down their lives in defense of Ukraine.  And on this day, June 22, when the Second World War began for Ukraine with the bombing, I want to remember those who defended our state in those years, and those who stand in defense of Ukraine today.

“In the jubilee year for the university (100th anniversary) changes are taking place.  I think that you, dear team, will become even stronger and even better,” said Inna Yashchuk.

The newly appointed rector thanked the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Department for the high level of trust, noting that in this difficult time for our country, along with the National Police, servicemen, representatives of the Odessa region, Odessa State University of Internal Affairs provides security.

“I am convinced that the traditions that exist in the institution of higher education, in today’s conditions will be multiplied and enriched, and our institution will be truly leading, powerful and multidisciplinary in the south of our country,” – added Dmitry Shvets.

On behalf of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine and the staff of the National Police, Mykola Semenyshyn, Chief of Police of the Odesa Region, congratulated Dmytro Shvets on his appointment as Rector.  He noted that university graduates are the pride of our country’s law enforcement system, and the scientific school of the southern region is exemplary.
