International scientific-practical round table “Official military training as a basis for professional activity of police officers”
Today, November 30th, the International Scientific and Practical Round Table “Official military training as a basis for professional activity of police officers” has taken place at Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
The scientific event was organized by the Department of Tactical-Special, Fire and Physical Training of the University.
The event was opened by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Professor Serhiy Kuznichenko, who greeted the guests and participants joined online, and he noted that the issue of the round table on military training of police officers is becoming more relevant every year, as police officers face new challenges and dangers in their professional activities that require high professional training, acquisition of new knowledge and skills, continuous training to effectively deal with threats and dangers. society and their own lives.
The head of the university also thanked foreign partners for their participation and stressed the importance of the international format of scientific and practical event, which, bringing together experts from different countries, will facilitate the exchange of international experience and best practices in organizing and providing police training. Serhiy Kuznichenko wished the participants of the scientific event an interesting discussion, fruitful cooperation and new successes.
Then the head of the personnel department of the GDNP in Odessa Region Yuriy Merdeno noted that military training is one of the priority areas, because it depends on the quality of police tasks. “The level of public confidence depends on the professional actions of the police, so if we do our work professionally, efficiently and effectively, the level of public confidence will increase and it is the main criterion of our assessment” he added.
The International Round Table was attended by representatives of higher education institutions with specific training conditions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, GDNP in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Vinnytsia regions, Patrol Police Department in Odessa region PPP, Anti-Terrorist Center Headquarters at the Security Service of Ukraine, State Border Guard Service, The National Guard of Ukraine, other units and public organizations.
Specialists from Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and representatives of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, who are in the Department of Internal Affairs within the framework of the academic mobility program, also joined the discussion.
The important modern and topical issues of professional training of police officers as a basis for professional readiness of the National Police of Ukraine to perform combat missions, as well as training of other law enforcement officers, in accordance with the established powers were discussed during the round table.
